For years I heard professionals give reasons for why they would never "go private" and at the top of the list was always the liability. Alas, I to fell pray to this fear for many years saying to myself and to others "I'd never go private, too much of a liability". However, Kresta does not live by fear or by empty words of others and she went private. Thanks to her unwillingness to follow the status quo we're here to say that God invented a wonderful way to control for liability: professional liability insurance! Sometimes as professionals we make errors and other times it's just a crazy parent claiming we have, either way you can take simple steps to protect yourself.1. Hire Wilson Pediatric Therapy- we'll scan for errors as we key your billing and back up your data to prove your case. It is our goal to aid you in becoming the best service provider that you can be; when you do better, we do better!
2. Supervision- If you are a new therapist it may be required for you have a time of supervision in your practice, but if not it is always a good idea to have a more experience professional in your field to get advice from. A little Q & A helps everyone!
3. Professional Liability Insurance- we think you'll find that professional liability insurance is very affordable for the work you'll be doing, and it's coverage more than adequate.
Suggestion: Kresta gets her liability insurance through Health Care Providers Service Organization (HPSO) and she pays $100 a year.

Since the time of this posting I have found another great agency who many independent providers get their liability insurance through: Proliability.
They seem to be a lot cheeper than HPSO and provide the same coverage. One therapist told me that her yearly premium is $54!
Their Website is at this link:
